Life in UQ

Hello Blog !
After 2 weeks of tight schedule and busy settling down, i finally have some free time to blog, instead of answering to questions like "how's life in UQ?" i decided to write a post regarding my life here.

before i start ranting, i'll let the pictures do the talking

my poor tiny window and single bed, i thought aussie bed should be bigger 1 la since they're mostly oversized lol

although i have small window, bed, table and everything, there's just something that some ppl might envy me while i don't think i need it

how did i survived when i barely know how to cook?


my first meal here, indo mee, okay everyone should know this becoz if u don't i doubt u can even survive lol, anyway the indo mee here is different from malaysia, it's much nicer :D


after i got bored of indo mee, i decided to try on pasta, and the preparation took me a freaking long time to finish but it's fun though, now i know why people like cooking so much, especially my sissy brother.


at last, pasta is done, but it doesn't look like what it is huh, more like acah


and when my brother msged me in msn
Brother : "WAH MY RICE VERY NICE !!how long it has been since the last time u ate rice ah?HAHHAHA"
Me : " mlm=.=mlm " (TULAN)
so i decided to give it a try, and RICE!!!very simple only la actually, fry 1 egg fry some vege den put all into plate = 1 meal, simple enough.


den when i can't finish the rice, i put it into fridge, and use it to make fried rice the next day, this 1 looks much better right??

regarding the taste of my food, i better not comment much, after all i'll say it's very nice since i'm the 1 cooking even if it taste like shit i'll say it's nice too, unless someone willing to try and give me some feedback hehe, but i doubt that will happen.

so basically i'm staying in an apartment and with some extremely troublesome housemates but luckily, 1 gone and 1 more is leaving very soon. uni is so huge that i get lost for twice so now i think i better not try to find short cut. Classes are extremely short, 1 hour 50 minutes for lecture and 50 minutes of tutorial each subject per week..PER WEEK! i'll be studying 12 hours per week and the rest of it i'm staying at home, i need to get a job..and life =(

the subjects i'm taking doesn't have any assignment, only mid term and final so it shouldn't be that hectic, mayb it'll be sooner or later but definitely not now =D

cost of living here is extremely high, although my place is fairly cheap, $140 per week and it's a hillside apartment(yea i need to climb a hill everyday), but everything else is so expensive here !!if i'm going to get all my textbooks, it'll cost me AUD$500, that's equivalent to RM1500 for textbooks ! wat's worse it can't be used in malaysia coz it's australia income tax act and australia corporation act blah blah

now i'm still thinking on how to save cost and whether i should start looking for jobs, since the pay is quite high too :D
